Racing Continuous Line Portraits

I've been playing with animating my continuous line drawings. I get asked about this occasionally, and was frustrated that there was no good way to do it in vector and retain my expressive, calligraphic line variation
poet and favorite human, Shel Silverstein
Shel Silverstein was created using frame by frame animation. Fun, but I was wondering if there was a way to use vector lines...
Me! On a Polish napkin design.
I experimented using a self-portrait. Not bad... I added the background so that it wouldn't show as a blank canvas in thumbnails. Plus, it's pretty!
lovely poet Sylvia Plath, who had at times a very happy life!
So I've been practicing this technique. This portrait of Sylvia Plath is a bit smoother than my self portrait, I'm happy with it. But the process is still a bit convoluted. It allows the variation of line that is so important to my work, which I haven't yet seen in other animated continual-line drawings. If anybody knows of a streamlined way to do this I am happy to confer!
